                                                                                                                                                                           No Robots,                        Just Humans

We believe that the key to success is having a team with a wide range of experiences, beliefs, talents, and knowledge, who are willing to  collaborate, laugh, and geek out with each other. Have you ever done that with a robot? Yeah, we haven't either.

Duncan grew up in New York City. He has always been a tinkerer. Starting with Legos, and moving on to robots and machines, Duncan's affinity for physical creation has always set him apart. He's been writing code since middle school, and has been working with Virtual Reality since Google first released the Cardboard API. He combines his creativity and engineering experience to lead Gwydion as it pushes the forefront of virtual reality technology.

Duncan

CEO, Founder

Paul is a lifelong story-teller and over-thinker. He grew up in Silicon Valley, surrounded by technology. His obsession with science fiction led to his desire to push the limits of technology, and his experience with Valley tech companies gave him the leadership skills he employs as the co-founder of Gwydion Inc.

Paul

Director of Customer Engagement, Founder

Duncan and Paul met in undergrad at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Opposites and complements in many ways--Paul is an English major, while Duncan studied Electrical Engineering, but both share a love of Star Trek and its vision of a future made better by technology--they are the ideal duo to start a tech company in an emerging industry, virtual reality. Their first victories came after a hackathon award led to a successful Kickstarter and Optimize Social Innovation fellowship for their VR creations. It wasn’t long after that the two began work on Arthea, the platform that has become Gwydion’s core product.

Gus is an award-winning artist and designer, a USMPA*-verified morning person, and a creator of acronyms for non-existent organizations. As a creative director that is in no way corrupted by power, he draws inspiration from stoicism, campy humor, and his seasonal existential crises. At one point in his life, he has fallen in love with, and dated, a computer program of his own creation.  He has previously worked in both the peaceful, undemanding field of Game Development and the cut-throat industry of Bonsai Botany. *United States Morning People Association, est. 1822 CE

Hootan (rhymes with toucan, not with futon) is the undying North Star guiding the development of software with a burning passion of a thousand fiery suns. When he is not inspiring others to greatness, he can be found playing guitar, parkouring, shaping his beard, and generally making people swoon. He was voted “Gwydion’s Prettiest Person” 9 months in a row. The quickest way to his heart is through following his style-guide.

Brendan Kennedy's first computer caught fire within hours of its construction. Since then, he has always made it a personal goal not to set fire to his (or others') computers. In that pursuit, Brendan oversees Gwydion's system infrastructure (that has never caught fire) and web user interface (also never caught fire). In his spare time, he has drifted city buses, explored Mars, and consumed hot (and cold) food. You can find his work at bken.io or tweet him in all caps @brenwken.

Talal is driven by his passion for ethical tech that helps humans learn, express, and grow. His mediocre attempts at replicating his mom's homemade food has lead him to cook the same meal for about 9 weeks. On days when he's not busy speaking in the the third person, he spends his time building immersive tech, designing games, and admiring Arabic calligraphy. Fun fact, Talal once had such blazing migraine that he started puking into a trashcan while his friend was in VR which is kinda ironic and possibly not worth mentioning. It thankfully, hasn't happened ever since.

Having moved across oceans once or twice, Tiffany the intern is a crossbreed of the humble Midwest and bustling Shanghai. When she's not trying to figure out if one can really be paid to do what they love, she enjoys pretending to be an adult, felting small animals made from the fur of her imaginary cat, being age ambiguous, and long walks on the beach (only in virtual reality though). See more of her work at tiffteng.com

Marmik was born in India, then moved to Indonesia, then moved to Singapore, then moved to South Africa, and eventually to Gwydion. So we can't exactly say where he's from, but he has a passion for solving problems, writing code, hunting bugs and using technology to improve lives. Outside of software development you can find Marmik ballroom dancing, critiquing current game design practices, taking photos, or drawing cars. You can find him building his work at github.com/marmikc.

João was born in Coimbra, Portugal, where he studied Biochemistry. His interest in computers and computing led him to leave behind glassware and pipettes and pursue a career in bioinformatics. He was awarded a PhD in Computational Structural Biology by Utrecht University for his thesis on protein docking and has since been at Stanford University, working on protein conformational dynamics. Three countries and two continents later, he still does not regret leaving the wet lab.
